Rechargeable vs Non-Rechargeable Disposables: What the Puff Count Does Not Tell You
A disposable has two separate limits: how much liquid is in the tank, and how much charge is in the battery. The puff count on the box describes the first one. It tells you nothing about the second.
That gap is where most disappointment comes from. A device advertised at 50,000 puffs that dies on day three has not necessarily failed — it has run out of charge, and it is designed to be recharged. Here is how to tell which devices need charging, which never do, and how to read the numbers yourself.
The two numbers that matter

The useful trick is to compare the two. A large tank on a small battery means a device built to be recharged repeatedly. A small tank on a large battery means one that will finish its liquid on a single charge.
Two devices from our shelves make the point:
- ELFBAR BC10000 — 10,000 puffs on a 620mAh cell. That tank will outlast the charge many times over, so it charges over USB-C
- BECO Soft 6000 — 6,000 puffs on a 1500mAh cell. More than twice the battery for a smaller tank, and it has no charging port at all. It does not need one
One cable fits everything we sell
Before the lists, the practical answer: every rechargeable device on this page charges over USB-C. We went through all of them one at a time — there is no micro-USB left anywhere in our range, and no proprietary charger. The cable that charges your phone charges your vape.
That is worth knowing because it used to be the opposite. Micro-USB was standard on vape hardware until a few years ago, and older devices still circulating elsewhere use it. Nothing on our shelves does.
Devices that never need charging
Fourteen of the devices we stock have no charging port. Most are the small and mid sizes, where a generous battery sits against a modest tank — and then there is the Lucime X40K, which breaks the pattern entirely.

These suit occasional use, or keeping one in a bag as a spare. You will never need a cable, and there is nothing to forget. When the flavour fades, the device is finished — that is the deal.
One brand splits cleanly down the middle. Vaptio's smaller BECO devices are sealed — the Mesh 2200 and the Soft 6000 both run on a single factory charge. The larger two, the Soft Max 12000 and the Pop 30K, both charge over USB-C. If you are choosing within the BECO range, that is the line.
Rechargeable devices we stock
All of these charge over USB-C. Where we have left the battery figure blank, see the note below the table.
Why some battery figures are blank. Where we have not printed an mAh figure, it is because we could not verify one we would stand behind. Spec listings for these devices contradict each other — the Elux Astra alone is quoted at 800, 850, 950 and 1000mAh on different sites — and UAE editions genuinely differ from the international ones, so a number copied from an overseas listing may not describe the device on our shelf. The charging port is different: that is consistent across sources, and we have confirmed it on every device here. If the exact capacity matters to you, message us on WhatsApp and we will read it off the device in front of us.

One oddity worth knowing: the Joinone Ice pods carry a small cell of their own, which almost no refill pod does. They still only work in the Joinone Ice device — the pod is not a device in its own right.
Where the puff count stops predicting it
The common advice is that anything above 6,000 puffs recharges and anything below does not. Having checked every device on our own shelves, we can say plainly that the rule is a rough guide at the extremes and unreliable everywhere else.
As a starting point: above about 7,000 puffs, most devices recharge — a battery big enough to empty a 20ml tank on one charge would make the device the size of a torch. Below about 2,000, most do not. But our own range breaks that rule at both ends.
Two devices at the same puff count, opposite answers. The BECO Soft 6000 has no port and never needs one; the TUGBOAT Box 6000 charges over USB-C. Same 6,000 puffs — because the Soft carries 1500mAh and the Box 600mAh.
And one device breaks it completely. The Lucime X40K runs to 40,000 puffs with no charging port at all. Every other 40,000-puff device we stock has one. If any single device proves that the number on the box tells you nothing about the battery, it is that one.
So do not infer it — read it. Every disposable we stock states its charging on the product page. If anything is unclear before you order, message us on WhatsApp and we will check the device in front of us.
Charging a disposable safely
A rechargeable disposable contains a lithium cell that was never designed to be opened or serviced. Two things worth knowing:
- Use a normal phone charger or a computer port. Fast chargers intended for laptops push more current than these small cells expect
- Do not leave one charging unattended overnight, and stop using any device that gets hot, swells or smells of chemicals

If you are charging it anyway, consider a pod system
This is the honest conclusion. Once a device needs a cable, the main advantage of a disposable is gone — you are already carrying a charger and remembering to plug in.
A refillable pod system with salt nicotine costs less per millilitre, lets you change flavour whenever you like, and replaces a coil rather than the whole device.
